F234 FILM PRODUCTION

Established in 2023 - F234 Film Production is a Film and Art production company founded by Dilenia Rodriguez and Kara Fan. Together, they brought together a team to create their first feature film written by Dilenia: Fuck Boys.

Annie Keating is an artist environmentalist, with an education in textiles design. She is the stylist for the film F@#$ Boys.

Dazhi Huang is a clever director with an extensive body of work. He is the director of photography for F@#$ Boys.

We're Fundraising to finish Post-Production for our first Feature Film. We are a collaborative so cool, diverse and talented and we want to bring to work on projects that reflect that.

Kara Fan(left) is a first-generation Chinese-American born and raised in New Jersey who always had a passion for visual art.

Dilenia Rodriguez (Right) is from the Dominican Republic, and immigrated to Jersey City where she found her creative footing through Jersey City Arts High School Program.

We are two buddies based in NYC that started an independent film company to amplify and explore alt narratives. You can support our team by donating or pre-ordering something off of our Ko-fi account.

F234 creates time-based media projects involving a diverse artists community. They believe that stories cannot be told alone, and recognize that development is not an isolated process; rather it takes a community of people to uplift, support and validate what is trying to be told. Through F234, they want to create an environment where people are safe to express themselves, explore, learn, and talk through the whole process of production from start to finish. At this time, F234 and their collaborators are made of people who are supporting themselves by either freelancing, or working in non-art related professions. Despite whatever setbacks that may bring, F234 seeks to uplift and represent marginalized people from diverse backgrounds who would not necessarily have this opportunity otherwise.

How Kara and Dilenia Met:

Their separate creative drives led them to meet 10 years ago at the Rhode Island School of Design where they met their other current collaborators: Director of Photography Dazhi Huang, and Stylist Annie Keating amongst others. Their other collaborators are made of people from all walks of their professional and personal lives who believe in the story that is being told through Fuck Boys, as well as the mission of the team.

Dilenia and Kara along with several other members of the crew all came together to make this film because we were creative professionals that were burned out. We were in an industry that was taking advantage of us, we felt stuck in a system that wanted us to be sedentary, and we believed our skills were not being used to make work that we felt connected to. Dilenia took a chance on asking her friends to make a film, and together we did it. We could not believe all that we had accomplished together as a young, green team. The energy that is generated from the desire to create together is powerful and invigorating.

F234 Film Production became integrated in business because we wanted to support our collaborators as fairly as possible and showcase their skills in comfort and safety. Through this movie we want to practice transparency so our audience can understand the labor that goes into making a film as well as learn what processes we used to get to the final product. Additionally, through the fundraising we wanted to give our collaborators a chance to showcase their other skills and be supported by it because most of us are not just limited to one medium as a way to express ourselves.

We want to put into practice a model of art making that allows everyone to flourish together. F234 wants to create opportunities to meet other people, share experiences, and foster a community where skills are shared, opportunities for collaboration open, and friends are made.
