CREATIVE PRODUCER

Production Design
Writing and Storyboarding for Film
Producing interesting scripts is the first thing to know about making videos.

Insight into my process
For narrative projects:
Screenplays -  Formatting prose, theatrical plays and oral tales into written dialogue and actions on screen.

Storyboarding - Once I have a script finalized. I develop storyboards. This is a great tool for leading a large production crew with individual tasks. Aiming to make them as clear as possible. This ensures that production design team and the director are in sync.
Creating a Treatment Plan
Productions of different sizes need treatment plans to map out the requirements for the production.
Treatments can be used instead of screenplays to map out non-narrative projects.

I make treatments as powerpoint or slide show videos. I use multi-media like sample videos, images of color palettes and music clips.

Getting these things in order is cost effective. It communicates the intended vision clearly. It sets the production team guiding resources.

Pre - Production: I create breakdown sheets that coordinate props to be made, set pieces and art requirements. Working with the art director and team, the Camera department and the director, I prepare for production. For casting the best talent, I assemble casting auditions.

Production: During production days, I'm on task. I'm collaborating and executing the script with the crew, maintaining flexibility. The benefit of working with someone that is trained in the different roles within the production team is that they're prepared to troubleshoot whenever issues arise. A producer that can think on the spot is life card in production.

Post Production:
In post production I work on developing the video content with the editors. I work on creating marketing for the production. In post production I've work with musicians, composer, sound technicians, animators, graphic designer and artists to complete the projects identity with complex attention.

The F@#$ Boys Feature Film Project Production
Treatment and Script

Writing this feature length film project required plenty on research and drafting. A script was created from a collection of ideas, taking into consideration resources and the purpose of the story.

Mood Boards / Wardrobe / Art Department

Creating mood boards with Wardrobe and art department. From these we developed shopping lists and character looks styles, setting and props. Creating Documents to track the production's progression.

Scene Breakdown

Scene breakdowns to map out the run of show for a production that was taking place over several months. With this document we track location, props, actors, and scene requirements. The document is color coordinated with scenes. This one is yellow, because the cells are colored yellow once that scen is completed.

Character Breakdown

A character breakdown that indicates the characteristics of each role to casted in the project, the scenes they appear in and the costumes they'd need. This one includes snapshots of the cast actors and their contact information and sizes.

Call Sheets and Production Schedule

Call sheets for complicated shoots include the information that everyone needs to know for the day on set. Some producer's use a template, but some productions require individualized spreadsheets to coordinate cast and crew members throughout the shoot day.

Production Binders / Budgets / Documents

Production binders for the cast and crew. With the information they each need for the entire production. This helps the team stay on task, on budget and organized throughout the shoot.

Auditions Production Design

Putting out a call for actors to audition. Creating relationships with creatives interested in working on the project. Creating planning materials and coordinating the various aspects of the audition process.

Production Casting

Producing recorded auditions with a large variety of talent. Coordinating chemistry reads and selecting the ideal candidates for the shoot.

Reads / Rehearsals

Producing and shooting a rehearsal day to read the script as a cast and map out performances with crew. This is great way to assess the project's making community.

Shoot Days: Locations / Settings

Scouting for the most cinematic locations and coordinating how cast and crew will get there. Permits, reservations and careful production planning to catch the sunset in this image.

Frame Selection / Editing Rushes

Once shooting the film is done the next thing is selecting the shots for the film's edit.

Editing and Composing

F@#$ Boys the Film is currently in the 2nd draft version awaiting scoring, VFX and sound design.

Fundraising / Promotional Campaigns

To pay for film crew and costs we designed a fundraising campaign. The fundraising campaign for the film reached a grand total of $12,988 in crowd funding for a one month KickStarter page.

Extended Trailer

For this film project, creating an extended trailer was important. Because we were using it to widen the brand awareness of the project and open a social media campaign about the film. Because the title can be misconstrued, a longer trailer gives an audience an in-depth look at the movie.

Developing a Production Identity

As the film project pushes towards its completion we decided to integrate the production company behind it under the name F234 Film Production. We worked on developing the brand behind our filmmaking initiatives. Under this new company we hosted various events to launch our promotional and fundraising campaign. In this manner we create cool projects that are connected to the community.
